Credit card scams include fake activation calls, limit increase offers, and phishing for CVV and OTP. Banks never ask for full card details and OTP together on a call.

Who is targeted: Credit card holders, especially new card recipients.

Warning signs

  • !Limit increase requiring OTP over phone
  • !Link to verify card for reward points
  • !Annual fee waiver in exchange for card details

What to do

  1. 1Activate card through official app or IVR you dial yourself
  2. 2Never share CVV, expiry, or OTP together with anyone
  3. 3Block card instantly via app if details may be compromised
  4. 4Check statement for unauthorised transactions daily
