Remote Access

Remote-access scams use AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or QuickSupport so criminals can see your screen, steal OTPs, and drain accounts. Often paired with fake refund or digital arrest calls.

Who is targeted: Anyone told to install screen-sharing for refund, KYC, or technical support.

Warning signs

  • !Instruction to install AnyDesk or TeamViewer
  • !Bank or Amazon support asking for remote access
  • !Refund process requiring screen share
  • !Caller stays on line while you install the app

What to do

  1. 1Never install remote-access apps for a caller
  2. 2Uninstall immediately if already installed; change all passwords
  3. 3Use a different device to check bank accounts
  4. 4Report to bank and cybercrime.gov.in
