This Disclaimer explains important limits on what we provide and what you should — and should not — expect from us.
Short version: We offer guidance, not guarantees. We are not a bank, police agency, or government body. We cannot confirm anything is 100% safe, recover lost money, or replace official verification. When in doubt, do not pay and do not share OTPs.
1. Overview
By using Digital Guardian (website, apps, and related services), you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Disclaimer together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the service. This Disclaimer applies to all users in India and elsewhere who access our tools.
2. Purpose of the service
Digital Guardian is an informational and educational safety platform. We analyze content you submit against known scam patterns common in India and return:
- A risk score and risk level
- Detected signals explaining what matched
- Practical "do not" guidance and suggested next steps
- References to official reporting channels where relevant
Our tools are designed to help you pause, think, and verify — especially under pressure from scammers who create urgency.
3. No guarantee of accuracy or safety
All check results are estimates produced by automated analysis. We do not warrant or guarantee that:
- Any message, link, phone number, person, or payment is safe or unsafe
- Every scam will be detected, including new or customized fraud
- Legitimate communications will never be flagged (false positives can occur)
- Following our guidance will prevent financial loss or other harm
We never tell you something is "100% safe." When our rules find no strong patterns, we still say we cannot confirm it is safe. A low risk score means we did not match known scam signals — not a certificate of trust.
4. Not legal, financial, or law-enforcement advice
Digital Guardian is not a substitute for:
- Legal advice from a qualified advocate or lawyer
- Investment, tax, or financial advice from a registered professional
- Official verification from your bank, payment app, or government department
- Police investigation, cybercrime prosecution, or court proceedings
- Medical, psychological, or emergency intervention
Always contact official channels directly — using phone numbers on your bank card, official apps, or government websites you type yourself — before transferring money or sharing sensitive codes.
5. No government, bank, or brand affiliation
Digital Fraud Safety India Pvt. Ltd. is an independent consumer safety company. Digital Guardian is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of:
- Any ministry, regulator, or law-enforcement agency of India (including CBI, ED, RBI, TRAI, police, or income tax authorities)
- Any bank, NBFC, wallet, or UPI operator
- WhatsApp, Meta, Google, Apple, Amazon, Flipkart, or other companies except as ordinary users of public web standards
- Any lottery, KBC, courier, or utility brand referenced in educational examples
Mentions of real organization names in tool examples describe common impersonation tactics — not partnerships or official status.
6. We cannot recover lost money
Digital Guardian cannot:
- Reverse UPI, bank, or card transactions
- Freeze scammer accounts or wallets
- Arrest or prosecute anyone
- Guarantee refund from your bank or payment provider
- Act as a mediator in disputes between you and third parties
If you have already lost money, contact your bank's fraud helpline immediately and report at Contact (for helpline links) or cybercrime.gov.in. Speed matters.
7. Automated, rule-based analysis
Checks use automated analysis — primarily rule-based pattern matching tuned for scams reported in India, with a structured secondary pass for ambiguous scores. Results are generated without human review of every submission.
- We do not perform live database lookups of every phone number or UPI ID
- We do not guarantee detection of voice cloning, deepfake video, or novel fraud
- Secondary analysis supplements rules — it is guidance, not guaranteed fact
- Tool descriptions on each page explain specific limits for that check type
- We improve rules over time but cannot eliminate all errors
8. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for decisions you make after using our tools, including:
- Whether to pay, share OTPs, install apps, or grant remote access
- Whether to trust a caller, message sender, or website
- What personal information you paste into check forms
- Who you share result links with
Do not submit OTPs, UPI PINs, or banking passwords — our forms never require them. If anyone claiming to be Digital Guardian asks for credentials, that is a scam.
10. Not an emergency service
Digital Guardian is not an emergency hotline. If you or someone else is in immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services. For active fraud in progress, call your bank and the Cyber Helpline 1930 without delay.
11. Scammers impersonating Digital Guardian
Fraudsters may pretend to be Digital Guardian, our staff, or a "verification partner" and ask for payment, OTP, or remote access. We will never:
- Call you demanding payment to "clear" a scam flag
- Ask for OTP, UPI PIN, or passwords to complete a check
- Charge money on the website to unlock or verify results
- Request installation of AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or similar tools for a web check

12. Third-party websites & content
We may link to external sites (government portals, banks, reporting tools). We do not control third-party content, availability, or security. Visiting external links is at your own risk — verify URLs carefully.
13. Service availability & changes
We strive to keep Digital Guardian available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may change, tools may be added or removed, and results may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance or technical issues.
Free anonymous checks are subject to fair-use limits (currently 5 checks per day per IP address). Limits may change with notice on the website.
14. Updates to this disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer when our service evolves or laws change. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
