Friend in Emergency
Friend-in-emergency scams use hijacked WhatsApp accounts or new numbers claiming to be family in urgent need of money. Always call the person on their old known number.
Who is targeted: Parents, grandparents, and close friends — emotional urgency bypasses caution.
