Fake electricity disconnection SMS threaten power cut unless you pay via a link or UPI ID immediately. Real disconnection notices come through official utility channels with verifiable account numbers.

Warning signs

  • !Payment link not on official state discom website
  • !UPI ID in personal name for utility bill
  • !SMS from random number, not official sender ID
