WhatsApp Check
WhatsApp scams in India include fake KYC warnings, lottery wins, job offers, and forwarded chain messages from compromised accounts. Paste the full message — including any links or phone numbers.
Who is targeted: WhatsApp users of all ages; forwarded family group messages are a common infection vector.
Warning signs
- !Messages from +92, +234, or other non-Indian country codes
- !WhatsApp KYC or account suspension threats
- !Lottery or prize wins requiring a fee
- !Messages asking you to forward to 10 groups
What to do
- 1Long-press → Copy the full message before it disappears
- 2Never install apps or APKs sent via WhatsApp links
- 3Verify with the person on their known phone number if they ask for money
- 4Block and report the number inside WhatsApp
