Why did I hit a rate limit?

Anonymous users get 5 free checks per day per IP address to prevent abuse and keep the service free for genuine users. If you see a rate-limit message, wait until the next day or try from a different network. We are building free accounts (with mobile apps) for higher limits and saved history. If you hit the limit during an emergency, ask a family member to run the check from their device.
